One TRUE STORY: The Transforming Story of Grace

Scripture, the infallible word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, tells the story of grace. This story, following the structure of creation, fall, redemption, and consummation, addresses our deep heart questions:

  • Who is God and who are we?
  • Why do I struggle with sin and heartache?
  • Is there a way to be freed from this struggle?
  • What does it mean that Jesus is “making all things new”?
  • How should I live in light of this good news?

This gospel, “good news,” is God’s story of grace, and by the work of the Holy Spirit, it transforms the hearts and lives of individuals, communities, and the world.

Many stories: God’s story of grace

God has written his story of grace into individuals, communities, and the world. These stories reveal God’s rescue and redemption in our lives. In these stories, we see how he restores his broken world for the sake of his glory.

FREEDOM AND PASSION

Learning

We need to know and engage our stories of grace. As we study the Scripture and our own stories, it penetrates our hearts and our minds. We see how God works to redeem all kinds of broken people, from murderers to mothers, and we are transformed to live our stories for God’s glory.

Living

Jesus died that we might become “new creation”. The Holy Spirit continues transforming us into new creation stories. Real life stories will bring moments of doubt and hopelessness; remembering God’s story of grace will allow us to dream of new possibilities for redemption in this hurting world.

Loving

God’s transforming story of grace reaches into and redeems every crack and crevice of this broken world and his broken people. As we recognize how we have been loved, we tell this story of stunning grace to friends and enemies, inviting them to celebrate forgiveness and love. We participate in God’s kingdom restoration by living our unique story into the broken world.
